I met a “new to the scene” Mom Blogger on Twitter recently – Yauzzle is a new website with great information and resources for teen parents. The founder included me in her first “It’s Me” feature, with a look back a few years (ahem) at my “14-Year-Old Self.” The picture alone is a little scary, I’ll admit – some seriously dated fashion and maybe pre-braces teeth 🙂 – but I enjoyed sharing some comparisons between my teenage years and that of my kids. I’ll be the first to admit that technology makes parenting really difficult. As much as it gives us limitless shortcuts to productivity, it adds a layer of privacy and concern to children’s lives that keep us on our toes more than we’d expect.
Here’s a link to my 14-Year-Old Self – hope you get a kick out of it.
How would you compare YOUR teen years to parenting your own teens? Any perspective or jewels of wisdom to share? Takes a village, that’s for sure! Join the chat by adding a comment to this post!
And definitely check out Yauzzle. Their site is beautifully designed, with a very clear focus, “the stuff parents want to know,” a fun/hip personality, and a great mix between “serious and not-so serious” topics. They’ve got loads of fabulous content on the site – everything from money (savings, financial aid finds), to technology, style, health, and more! I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the site’s founder, and wish them lots of success in the Mom Blogosphere.
